What is CWAI?
Camp With An Impact is a camp specifically designed for students entering grades 6, 7 and 8 in the fall of 2008. It is a week long, overnight camp loaded with activities, authentic worship, creative teaching and excitement. For one week student get the opportunity to unplug from the distractions of this world and be engulfed in a community where they can focus on their relationship with God.
Where is CWAI?
Camp With An Impact takes place at Camp Adventure in North Webster, Indiana. It is only 18.1 miles from the WCC main campus to the grounds of Camp Adventure. We picked a close location that is convenient for parents and families.
What is Impact 2818?
Camp Adventure belongs to a network of camps called Impact 2818. Impact 2818 is the camping ministry of North Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. WCC Student Ministry partners with Impact 2818 to bring you “Camp With An Impact.” For more information on Impact 2818 you can visit their website [www.impact2818.com].
How many students go and who are they?
Since Camp Adventure is a United Methodist Camp there is a potential for there to be students from all over the northern half of the state. WCC Student Ministries has currently reserved all 155 spots for this week of camp. Our goal is to have our week completely full of students from this community.
What do we do at CWAI?
Camp Adventure is a classic summer camp in the woods, so we are going to be doing the classic camp activities, such as canoeing, archery, campfires, and sleeping in cabins. We also plan to have some great worship, awesome teaching, an Olympics size swimming pool, a high and low ropes course and lots of fun.
Who is in charge of CWAI?
Mo Grimm, Matt Goebel and Evan Overman are the camp directors for this week. They are in charge of the programming side of the camp, which includes, worship, teaching, curriculum, cabin assignments, and the basic flow of the camp. The site staff for Camp Adventure is in charge of meals, facilities, and running the activities such as swimming and high ropes.
What about scholarships or assistance with cost?
There are scholarships available through both Impact 2818 and WCC. You can download a Scholarship requests form from the following links:

Who is supervising the students?
Safety is number one concern of he Camp Adventure Site Staff, Camp Director and Counselor Team. Your student will be supervised and cared for 24/7.
Upon arriving at registration on Sunday, your students will be assigned a same gender cabin. A same gender counselor supervises each cabin. Your student will spend the majority of their time with that counselor. They will go to worship together, do activities together, and sleep in the same cabin together. Your student will spend 23 hours a day with that counselor. (The extra hour is a break time for the counselors in which the students are with the directors)
Who are the counselors and where do they come from?
Counselors are hand picked by the program directors. The counselors come from all walks of life from, grandparents to seniors in high school. The counselors are carefully screened against 1 Timothy 3:1-7. Each counselor will have gone through the curriculum before the camp and will have been through a training process for that week of camp.
How are the counselors and students organized?
Each counselor has a different gender co-counselor. This pair we call a "home in the woods group." This group will spend most the time together and will do everything together except sleep in the same cabin.
Money?
There will be nothing for sale during the week. Please don’t send your students with money. It only causes problems.T-Shirts, DVD’s and other items will be for sale during registration and pick-up.
Can I be in communication with my student while they are at CWAI?
As a parent you have the ability to write emails and letters to your student while they are there. As a camper, your student can write you letters which will be mailed from camp. To increase the chance of getting mail from your student while they are at camp, we suggest that you send self-addressed, stamped envelopes with your students.
Emails can be sent to Adventure@impact2818.com with your child's name in the subject field, along with the camp code W408. Matt occasionally reads the emails out-loud so be careful about content.
Unless it is an emergency we don’t allow phone calls or visits. Phone calls and visits can trigger or increase homesickness not only with your student, but also with the students at the camp.
How much does CWAI cost?
Cost for camp this year will be $365. There will not be any registration deadlines this year. We only have 155 spots and when they are gone, they are gone.
What are the dates?
